10 Week Hand Building Courses

Intermediate & Beyond - Hand Building Course for Adults

This class will be taught by Abbie McGregor

For those seeking a longer, immersive journey into the art of pottery, this term invites you to be fully present in the world of ceramics through focused hand-building. You’ll explore foundational techniques with intention - planning and designing pieces, balancing beauty and function, understanding clay body types, and refining your firing and glazing skills. It’s a space to unwind from the outside world and enter a creative zone where ideas can take shape.

As your skills grow, the course remains a contained, spacious environment in which you can develop confidence and personal projects. We’ll start with a solid grounding in hand-building, then gradually shift toward longer-term projects tailored to your interests. Projects will be discussed and planned with your teacher to ensure they’re practical, purposeful, and aesthetically satisfying. If you’ve completed a few workshops or beginner hand-building classes and want to continue with clay then this course is for you.
